Consultant Cardiologist
Dr Simpson is a specialist in the prenatal diagnosis of congenital heart disease.
After completing his training at Guy's and St Thomas' Hospital, he has been a consultant in Fetal and Paediatric Cardiology at Evelina Children's Hospital for the past 13 years.
With more than 50 papers published in the field of congenital heart disease and contributions to two of the leading textbooks on this very subject Dr Simpson, is considered an authority for the diagnosis and treatment for babies and young children.
"It's not just about saving lives - as important as that obviously is," he said. "We also aim to leave a legacy for the medical team in Sri Lanka. Through our lecture programmes and providing practical experience for the local medical team, together we can improve the prospects for young patients between our annual visits."
