Dr Marilyn McDougall

Dr McDougall,  Paediatric Intensive Care consultant sees many similarities of medical treatment and facilities between her homeland of South Africa and Sri Lanka.

Marilyn was part of the team on a previous mission to Sri Lanka, "I was very excited to see the children that were operated on the previous missions and their progression."

Speaking of the hospital in Galle, Marilyn says  "They need far more resources, and not just medical ones. For example, the patients have to bring their own bedding into the hospital" 

Marilyn goes on to note that the improvements are slow, but visible year on year.
