Intensive Care Doctor
Dr Sheward trained at Guy's Hospital, and spent some time at alternative hospitals before returning to London and Evelina Children's Hospital 18 months ago.
Speaking of transferring her experience in Intensive Care medicine to the Karapatiya Hospital, Dr Sheward said "With fewer ventilators and the need to treat as many children as possible on the trip, it was expected to have a quicker turn-round than would normally be allowed in the UK"
Expecting a demanding time, with 17 critical operations in a six day period, Dr Sheward was well prepared to look after the young Sri Lankan patients and their post operative care.
