It has many beautiful tropical forests and is also popular with tourists because of its wonderful beaches.
It also has one of the longest documented histories in the world, dating back more than 3,000 years.
It has a warm climate, moderated by ocean winds and considerable moisture.
The average yearly temperature for the country as a whole ranges from 28 to 30 °C.
